Register an Artwork

Welcome! We’re looking forward to seeing your Artwork add to the magic of Tankwa Town.

Whoa, horse. You’re a little too early – registrations only start in August. Check back then for the opening dates, or keep an eye on our channels for the announcement, thanks.

If you register your artwork, we’re able to allocate a spot for your piece. If you haven’t registered by the cutoff date, register your artwork on site with our Art Wranglers at the Arteria at Off-Centre Camp (located between 8ish and 9ish roads on the Binnekring). They will give you placement and get your details.

It’s not rocket surgery, but here are some helpful guidelines:

  1. Gather all the information required for the proposed piece.
  2. Fill in all fields – if a field’s left blank, the form won’t submit properly.
  3. Attach all relevant images and information (less than 1MB each).  Mail additional files to art@afrikaburn.com (with the title of your piece in the subject line).
  4. CHECK YOUR MAILBOX AFTER SUBMITTING YOUR FORM. If you haven’t received a copy of your registration form, neither have we. Chances are you left a field incomplete and so your form did not submit. You’ll need to do it again. It can take a while for the mail to reach you – leave your form open ’til you get it.
  5. Be sure to CHECK YOUR EMAIL regularly in the next few weeks. If we’ve got questions or suggestions, we’ll mail them through – please respond quickly.
  6. Clickety clack – the sooner you send, the sooner magic’s unlocked!

  1. Proposals need to be complete (and incomplete proposals give us a whole lot of headaches). Incomplete proposals? Can’t be considered for a Creative Grant.
  2. A minimum of one concept image is required. Please keep all file attachments under 1MB. We accept jpg, gif and tiff files
  3. Accepted file formats for other documents are pdf, Word and Excel.
  4. If you’re applying for significant funding for a large-scale sculptural or architectural artwork we’ll need to see a 3D model. This may be a macquette (or digital image of it) or a 3D digital rendering (e.g. in SketchUp). Please email it through to art@afrikaburn.com with the title of your project in the subject line. Or contact us to set up a time to deliver it to our HQ. While a 3D model’s not a requirement for medium and small-scale projects, it’s encouraged.

Please note that after a successful submission, you will be taken to a SUCCESS page.

Thank you, AfrikaBurn could not happen without you!
